Step-by-Step Guide

1Start with One Leg in Front in a back walkover

Start with One Leg in Front

Stand tall with your strongest leg in front and the other leg behind you. Keep your front foot flat, your back heel slightly raised, and your arms straight beside your ears.

2Bend Back Slowly in a back walkover

Bend Back Slowly

Push your hips forward and bend backward. Keep your arms close to your ears, look toward your hands, and keep the front leg in place.

3Place Your Hands Down in a back walkover

Place Your Hands Down

Reach back until one hand and then the other touches the floor. Keep your hands shoulder-width apart, elbows straight, and shoulders pushing tall.

4Kick the Front Leg Over in a back walkover

Kick the Front Leg Over

Kick the leg that started in front strongly over your body. Push through the standing foot and your hands while keeping both legs straight and far apart.

5Land the First Foot in a back walkover

Land the First Foot

Lower the kicking leg to the floor first. Keep your arms straight and the second leg extended behind you as your weight moves off your hands.

6Land the Second Foot in a back walkover

Bring the second foot down behind the first. Finish in a lunge with one leg behind the other, lift your chest, and keep your arms raised.
