How to Do a Chassé
How to Do a
Chassé
The chassé is a quick, controlled sideways movement that's an important part of many floor routines. It helps with rhythm, style, and connecting skills.
Before You Start
Make sure you have a clear space with a non-slip floor. You should be comfortable with basic movements like walking, jumping, and balancing.
Step-by-Step Guide
Start Position
Stand tall with your feet together, arms out to the side at shoulder height. Keep your core tight and look forward.
Step
Step to the side with your right foot or left foot, keeping your legs straight and your toes pointed.
Together
Quickly bring your other foot in to meet the first foot. Your feet should be together with straight legs.
Step
Step out to the side again with the same foot. This is one chassé: step, together, step. Keep moving!
