Gymnastics Level Calculator
Select the skills you can do with good form on each event. This calculator estimates the competitive level range you may be closest to, including Development Program Levels 1–10 and Xcel-style progress ranges.
Important: This Is Not an Official Placement
Real meet levels depend on required routines, coaches, age rules, mobility scores, and your gym's program.
Only check a skill if you can perform it safely, consistently, and without needing a spot.
A gymnast may be strong on Floor but lower on Bars or Beam. This tool shows your overall balance.

How Competitive Gymnastics Levels Work
Beginner compulsory-style levels. Gymnasts focus on safe basics, rolls, handstands, cartwheels, pullover/back hip circle basics, beam confidence, and simple vault shapes.
Stronger compulsory levels. Gymnasts usually need more technical routines, stronger bars skills like kips, sharper beam acro, better dance, and more powerful vaulting.
Optional-style routines begin. Gymnasts build harder tumbling, routine connections, clearer dance requirements, stronger casts and circling skills, and more advanced beam work.
Advanced optional gymnastics. Athletes perform difficult routines with advanced tumbling, high-level bars, stronger beam series, and advanced vault progressions.
Reminder: This calculator gives a helpful estimate for learning and goal-setting. A coach is the person who can officially decide competition readiness.
